Cookie Clicker

I would like to introduce you to Cookie Clicker. This game has single handed brought down the productivity of companies all around the world. It is an OCD nightmare. It starts off small, but before you know, you've lost hours, days or even weeks.

http://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/

The point of the game is to click cookies. You can buy "add-ons", like grand mothers to help you produce cookies without clicking cookies yourself. The more you buy, the more expensive the items get. You reach a point where cookies and Grandmother run the world. It all sounds mundane, but believe me, it is hard to stop clicking, not to try and get all of the achievements. If you are an achievement addict, this is the game that will ruin your life.

Many websites and applications have been dedicated to Cookie Clicker. One application used is http://sourceforge.net/projects/hf-auto-clicker/, that clicks on your behalf. And the popular cheating website http://cookieclicker.wikia.com/wiki/Cheating.

Enjoy!

Power Gig: Rise of the Sixstring. - Guitar Hero replacement

Seven45 has decided to release a more realistic instrumental game. Power Gig is a lot like guitar hero and rock band except you are playing with an actual guitar. This might teach people to play basic guitar, but unfortunately it won't teach you how to read real music sheets.

On the easiest difficulty setting the game doesn't call on gamers to switch strings -- it will register a correct note as long as the coloured fret matches up with the strum -- but on harder difficulties a coloured note in a song will display a number relating to a particular string.

The interface in Rise of the Six String looks similar to Rock Band, sending notes streaming downward with coloured cues relating to the frets on the guitar.

When not plugged into an Xbox 360, the Power Gig controller will actually work with standard guitar amps and strum like you'd expect. Will this shoot the controller prices sky high?

Power Gig - Rise of the Six String is currently slated for a Fall 2010 release, but the game is still in its early stages and information such as price and the release date are still forthcoming.

Would you try this?

Farmville bigger than WOW

A while back I played farmville on facebook, stopped because it took me over an hour per session, just clicking, and now I'm being spammed by requests. It seems like everyone is playing this time consuming game. Apparently this is not so far from the truth.

As you can see from the Facebook statistics below FarmVille is the number 1 application of the number 1 developer within Facebook with a enormous 81,125,786 daily users. Currently facebook has more than 400 million active users as can be seen on Facebook's statistics page. According to my calculations that means a fifth of facebook users are playing Farmville!!

Below is a display of Farmville's user statistics for the last month. When comparing these stats with mmorp's World of Warcraft one of the biggest online games, FarmVille not only beats it but the user community is at least 7 times as big!!

As if this isn't enough, you now have websites dedicated to this app popping up all over the place, giving you all of the tips and trick on how to have the best farm EVER. Totally... Like.... Yay... :-|

Check out
http://www.farmvillestats.com/
http://www.farmville-strategy.com/
http://farmvillefanatic.com/

They are even selling t-shirts, greeting cards, mugs, deck's of cards and what ever useless souvenir you can think of.

I know I'm guilty for playing it, but I have come to see the light. I just don't understand why so many people would be so dedicated to clicking on more than a 1000 items daily if not more, to maintain a farm that would never benefit you. This is like having another job, except you don't get payed. Hell yeah!

Would like to hear your opinion.

Browser Game: Emoticon Defense

I've been playing Emoticon Defense lately. Not the best tower defense I've come across, but amusing in it's own way.

You start with a plain smiley that you can upgrade. You can either upgrade it's level, making it more powerful or you can upgrade it's equipment, which includes tower type and two choices of accessories. This basically gives your tower a total of three specialties.

I like it, cause it is cute. :-P

Browser Game: Bloons TD 4

Finally it has been released.
I know, i am an addict but this is one of the best Browser TD's out there.
A lot of fun , a lot of dynamics added to the game play, and i must say i am loving every minute of light saber throwing jedi monkeys that can kill up to 70 bloons at once :)

And yes i should be working but hehe ... soooo much fun.
9/10 from my part, if only all the content was unlockable it would have been awesome.

enjoy it here : MONKEYS!

Browser Game: Sheep Reaction

How fast are your reactions? See how fast you can tranquilize the sheep running across the screen. If you click too fast, you get a 3 second penalty added to your total time.

This is a lot like the game we played when we were kids, "Red robot, green robot".

Enjoy

Medallions Room Escape

Medallions Room Escape is a good room escape game, the first one I've enjoyed since the Russian one we played in July.

You start in one room, looking around for subtle clues. You have to use everything you find, from math equations, object puzzles to matching colours. Some of the things are hard to find, like the yellow medallion slot, but if you keep your eyes open you will get there.

Try it out and let me know what you think.

Monopoly City Streets

In economics, a monopoly exists when a specific individual or an enterprise has sufficient control over a particular product or service to determine significantly the terms on which other individuals shall have access to it. If there is one thing the board game has driven us to do, it is to never lend money to siblings ever again. Monopoly has changed the view on properties for quite some time, but the new intuitive taken was bold and daring and quite interesting. Monopoly City Street allows you to play monopoly with google maps and take over the world.

You play live with players from around the world and start with 3million Monopoly Money. Buy any street and start your own empire!! This is seriously fun and a must check out for any Internet gofer. A definitive must see!

Here is the link, happy hunting :P

Browser Game: Urban Rivals

I like playing new games, keeps the Internet interesting :) If you like card games like magic then you will really love this game. It is simple and easy to begin and a lot of fun :) Urban Rivals lets you register quite easily and let you play in challenging level based arena's. Here is how it works. You get to play with 5 cards from your deck. Each card contains a damage and power rating. Each rating can be boosted with pills. The dynamics of the game comes in when you play against a skilled player and need to use your pills to your advantage to destroy the other players health while keeping your health in tack. You get money and experience for wining and you can level up your cards. :) really fun. But unfortunately it hasn't got me that hooked. Its fun to do in a break and fun to challenge other users but its not all that yet. Will love to see if they try and change the dynamics soon. Love it, its a must play. Check it out at : Urban-Rivals

Browser Game: DragonFable - Web RPG

Role Playing Games are generally awesome :) You have the ability to level up and kick ass in the way you want to with a character of your choice. The thing that attracts me most to RPG`s is the fact that you can complete the game in your own manner.

DragonFable -WebRPG is a flash based quest game you will find all over advertisements. I must admit it is quite fun. If you spend the time to read the comments is quite funny, and completing the game will take some time.

The creators of the game will allow you free characters and sign up, but all the cool awesome stuff in the game will only be available for players who bought a subscription. This isn't needed to have fun but it sure can get irritating some times.

I like it because its flash based and because i can grow to a character, whilst i wont play this every single minute of every day, i do spend a few minutes in between work and thinking to fight a few baddies.

Its a bit repetitive but leveling up unlocks more features and pets and spells and things that makes you stick to it for an extra level.

Give it a bash at: DragonFable

No Brainer 2 - Browser game

No Brainer is a quick, fun and easy game. You get asked questions and you need to quickly respond by moving your mouse up and down for yes or left and right for no. If you don't respond quick enough your brain gets tazed. Just imagine the drinking game you could make out of this one.

Enjoy

Bodyline - Online cricket game

Bodyline is a game for sportsman that have a hint of sadism. The goal of the game is to aim at the batsman's body. Hit the player three times to get a wicket. The less overs you have left, the faster the aiming mechanism gets, making it almost impossible to hit the batsman.

The game is fun at first, but it gets easy once you get the hang of it. The game doesn't last long either. Still a nice way to kill some time.

Hedgehog Launch 2

Some games you want to play over and over and over and try to beat the clock and set new records. Some games have sequels that is so cool it blows your mind and you loose two days of your life playing those games. Hedgehog Launch 2 is not that game.
Its predecessor Hedgehog Launch 1 was totally awesome and you could play it a million times. Hedgehog Launch 2 only confuses you when you launch and it isn't even necessary to try and upgrade all the options. You start by going to the moon which you can easily complete in 4days and then you try to go to mars which i did in 14 Days.. Wooohoo my life feels so complete right now i can eat a banana sandwich.

Fun if you have 5 minutes.

Gem Tower Defense

This is an awesome tower defense game. You plant 5 gems into a maze and then you choose the best gem or you combine gems to make even better gems. If you are a fan of the Warcraft TD maps, you will definitely enjoy this.

I made it to level 23 on hard. Let me know how you do?

Escape the Phonebooth game

Unlike the other escape games, this one is a quick and easy. You are stuck in a phone booth where you need to use what you see and just a few items to get out. Once you've phoned the right numbers and entered the right codes that are hidden all over, you get a little word game where you have to create a sentence out of jumbled letters.

I would say the goal is to beat the clock rather than to struggle with cryptic puzzles. You get timed on your escape.

Fun for someone that is looking of a little brain teaser as a short break. I finished this in 20minutes. What did you score?

Zero Punctuation game reviews

Zero Punctuation is a video game review series created by comedy writer, video game journalist and gamer Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw and produced by online magazine The Escapist.

In his videos Croshaw usually reviews a recent game or games using rapid-fire speech delivery (which was the inspiration for the name 'Zero Punctuation', although he states that his fast talking was “by accident”). This is accompanied by minimalistic cartoon imagery on a distinctive yellow background, illustrating what is being said. The videos are typically around five minutes in length. The end credits often feature humorous notes about Croshaw's reviews such as 'Systematically alienating every type of fanboy' in GTA IV, and often also contain characters from the review engaging in slapstick.
I enjoy these videos thoroughly. Once you start watching you just can't stop. Ben takes all of the things that you know you were thinking and he tells it to the world as it is.
The videos can be downloaded on http://zp.dbrweb.co.uk/
As most of my friends are playing this game at the moment, I've included a review of Prototype.
