A few students from the University of Ottawa has wrote the paper "When Zombies Attack" showing a Mathematical Model for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse.
A quick extract reads:
"We show that only quick, aggressive attacks can stave off the
doomsday scenario: the collapse of society as zombies overtake us all"
The only way to survive doomsday is by is to killing them all quickly :P Maths have proven it.
