Footage of Meteor over Jo'burg
I found this you tube video of CCTV footage taken of a meteor entering the atmosphere over Johannesburg, South Africa, on my friend Arné's blog.
Apparently the occurrence was at 23h00 on the 21st of November, which was last week.
I never knew that it could make such a bright light. It almost looks light lightning, just bigger.

New Poll
For you who haven't noticed, there is a new poll lurking in on the top left corner.
Should we break the post categories down into smaller groups??
Your input is important to us. We are trying to figure out a new way to structure posts, so you can access them easily.
Please vote even if it just to say that you like bananas :)

Our weekend with friends and Vernon Koekemoer
The exams are over, the holiday season is here and the year is at an end. This weekend we celebrated friendship and life. We got together early in the afternoon and only left the next morning at about 3:30. What a night! We had the South African version of Chuck Norris, Vernon Koekemoer DJ the night away, promo girls in air hostess costumes doing fire dancing. There was a great turn up of people and the amazing thing is, no faders.
We dedicate this little video we put together to everyone who joined us. Thank you for a great weekend.

Linq: How to wrap your head around it
LINQ stands for Language INtegrated Query, it was developed with the idea that programers can query data-sources in an object orientated manner. Linq will alow you to query any IEnumerable source and is available from the .Net 3 framework.
A typical Linq statement looks something like this:
var result = from customer in customers
where customer.Items.Count > 0
select customer;
in this example the result variable will be filled with customers that bought items at our shop.
To understand LINQ, you need to understand the parts that makes it work.
THE FROM CLAUSE:
the first part of LINQ looks something like this:
from customer in customers
This is were you spesify the range variable, it works in a simmilar maner as a foreach loop:
foreach(customer in customers)
The compiler is smart enough to interpret the data types and will return a collection of customers.
THE WHERE CLAUSE:
The were clause is also known as a filter and looks something like this:
where customer.Items.Count > 0
The filter can be any Boolean expression and because you are working with typed objects you are allowed to call on properties. (Whoop for OOP)
You are even allowed to build nested queries if you would like to.
THE SELECT CLAUSE:
The select clause is also known as projection. This is the statement that determines what is being returned. It looks something like this:
select customer;
the select clause can return any result even newly constructed classes for example:
select new EmailDetail {Name = customer.Name, Email = customer.Email)
in this case the compiler will interpret the type of object to return, and the result variable will be a list of email addresses.
EYE OPENING MOMENT:
The most important thing about understanding LINQ is that it is used in a programing environment. There is a big similarity between a SQL statement and a LINQ statement but the key difference is that the from clause begins the LINQ query and the select clause ends it. The from statement must be first because .Net requires that variables must be declared before they are used.
Hope this helps in understanding.

Pentium 1 shoes by Gabriel Dishaw
These unique shoes were made by the junk artist
Gabriel Dishaw. It is part of a series of art pieces where he is revisiting his favourite classic sneakers silhouettes. He creates the shoes with a matching box as a set.
The Blazer Pentium 1.0 naturally caught my eye, but his other art pieces are done just as well. The greenies must love him, with the whole reuse of junk thing he has going. I like the initiative and creativity.
If you check out the link
you can see more pictures of the shoes. The detail is astonishing, from the laces, to the bottom of the shoes, to the nike signs.
On a side note, I wonder how much these bad boys bench.

V1 computer desk
The Version One computer desk has been developed over three years of planning to make your gaming experience even better.
It looks pretty sweet with its bucket chair, surround sound and strategically placed tops. This chair has a lot of potential for games like flight simulator, racing and even the theater experience. It is like your own little bubble.
There are a few versions like the original, corner and flagship edition to meet different peoples needs.
I like it.

Browser Game: Bloons TD 4
I know, i am an addict but this is one of the best Browser TD's out there.
A lot of fun , a lot of dynamics added to the game play, and i must say i am loving every minute of light saber throwing jedi monkeys that can kill up to 70 bloons at once :)
And yes i should be working but hehe ... soooo much fun.

9/10 from my part, if only all the content was unlockable it would have been awesome.
enjoy it here : MONKEYS!

"Beer" Scam Warning
Check this Warning video."Beer" Scam Warning
Police are warning all men who frequent clubs,
parties and local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink
from any woman.
Many females use a date rape drug on the market called 'Beer.'
The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in
bottles, cans, or from taps and in large 'kegs'. Beer is used by female
sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go
home and sleep with them. A woman needs only to get a guy to consume a few
units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no strings attached sex.
Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several beers, men
will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women whom
they would never normally be attracted.
After drinking beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly
what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that
'something bad' occurred.
At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's
savings, in a familiar scam known as 'a relationship.'
In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the
unsuspecting male into a longer term form of servitude and punishment
referred to as 'marriage.' Men are much more susceptible to this scam after
beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.
Please! Forward this warning to every male you know.
If you fall victim to this 'Beer' scam and the women administering it, there
are male support groups where you can discuss the details of your shocking
encounter with similarly victimized men. For the support group nearest you,
just look up Golf Courses' in the phone book.
