Power Gig: Rise of the Sixstring. - Guitar Hero replacement

Seven45 has decided to release a more realistic instrumental game. Power Gig is a lot like guitar hero and rock band except you are playing with an actual guitar. This might teach people to play basic guitar, but unfortunately it won't teach you how to read real music sheets.

On the easiest difficulty setting the game doesn't call on gamers to switch strings -- it will register a correct note as long as the coloured fret matches up with the strum -- but on harder difficulties a coloured note in a song will display a number relating to a particular string.

The interface in Rise of the Six String looks similar to Rock Band, sending notes streaming downward with coloured cues relating to the frets on the guitar.

When not plugged into an Xbox 360, the Power Gig controller will actually work with standard guitar amps and strum like you'd expect. Will this shoot the controller prices sky high?

Power Gig - Rise of the Six String is currently slated for a Fall 2010 release, but the game is still in its early stages and information such as price and the release date are still forthcoming.

Would you try this?
